Hard work comes first, Reward comes later’.

Miss you all !! :) my classmates ! :) in case you guys do not realize it, each of you is AWESOME !

Historical names and dates

I took history subject in STPM and I got As in both papers.
When I was in Form 6, I scored my history papers in every exam.( A)

It is a tough subject so at first you must love it.

to produce a good essay ,firstly find materials from different books.
then produce main points and points out of it.

how to remember names and dates well?

read the names loudly
when you read you absorb the fact once.
once you listen what you have spoken there goes another absorption.
and then you write the names for many times or you can just scribble it on papers and read it while you are writing.

and then you can look at the first letter of every word to have better memory on the names.for eg:

joseph augustus jeanz bowling

J A J B : and so by remembering the first letter it will link to the full name. try it :)

how about the dates?

remember the YEAR first
then the month
then only the day

make some stories out of the date:
for eg.

07.08.1857
( 100 year earlier then independence, same month with independence and the day is one day earlier than the month's number )

you can apply the technique of remembering the names as well.

you must also know the chronology of every story in the textbook so that you can ensure that the dates are not wrongly memorized.

STPM 4.00

MY WAY OF ACHIEVING FOUR FLAT:

I was 2011 STPM candidate(art stream) and  achieved four flat.
STEP 1: SET YOUR GOAL

1. You must be clearly acknowledged of your own skills, capabilities, interest and ambition.
2. You must aim for a certain NGMP( the highest that you believe you can get)
3. You must aim for a certain Local University and a Course.
4. Write it down on a paper and paste it on the wall right behind your bed. Make sure that piece of paper is the last thing that you read everything before you fall asleep. To make it look attractive, you can use colorful markers and decorate it with stickers or just anything. It will be the simplest tool of motivating you at all times.

STEP 2: GET OFF FROM YOUR CUSHION AND READ ALL THE TIMES

Form 6 involves a lot of reading and memorizing. The more you read and memorize, the better you are. Make use of every minute and second that you have to grab any related book and read to gain your knowledge in any subject.
I was an Art Stream student. To most of us , general studies is the hardest subject as its scope is very wide that no one can fully cover. The only thing that we can do is to read and read and read.

STEP 3: REPEATEDLY READING THE SAME FACTS

Reading for one time is seriously not enough. You have to read it for many times until you feel very familiar with every tiny thing inside your textbooks.
·       Please be smart enough that the word reading here is referring to reading & understanding.
·       I don’t count reading blindly without understanding as ‘reading’

STEP 4 : MAKE NOTES & DO EXERCISES

You are big enough to independently make mind-maps and short notes out of your textbooks! Be diligent enough to do that especially the tough chapters.
Must always remember that the more effort you put in the more you will get at the end. So don’t grumble and don’t sigh, just do it !

Come out with attractive mind-maps and carry it everywhere to ensure you can remember some facts in a longer term.
Do more exercises to ensure that you will not repeat the same mistakes that you made in exercises when you have your exams. In that case, you can decrease the probability of mark loss in your exams.

HOW TO MEMORISE WELL?

1.     READ THE WHOLE THING
2.     PRODUCE A GOOD QUALITY MINDMAP
3.     MEMORIZE THE POINTS IN THE MINDMAP
4.     EXPLAIN IT TO YOUR FRIEND/YOURSELF ORALLY

STEPS OF REMEMBERING:

SEE-->READ(UNDERSTAND-->LISTEN(FROM TEACHER)-->SPEAK(EXPLAIN)

HOW TO PRODUCE A GOOD MINDMAP?
1.     Know the topic( the head)
2.     Figure out the main points(The body)
3.     Figure out the side points(the limbs)

STEP 5: WHEN IT COMES TO STPM

Yes you must read the whole textbooks for about 2 times a few days earlier and only read your notes the night before your exam. Never try to re-read the whole thing as that action is telling your brain that you’re not ready and so your brain will prepare to screw your paper on the next day.
SO you must be well-prepared and only revise on notes and mind maps at the night before a certain paper.

STEP 6: IN THE EXAM HALL

Pray before answering your paper. Sit properly and organize your stationery, answer sheets and question papers neatly on your table. Write your details first on the answer sheets and drink water whenever you need to crack your head. Water is great thing to help us to recall facts and to relax when we start to feel helpless and nervous when it comes to hard questions.

MENTAL PREPARATION

To me, you need to have a positive mindset in order to excel in your studies. Don’t afraid of extra work and troubles. Don’t easily get defeated and most importantly you must BELIEVE in yourself.

Every dream starts with believing. Encourage yourself with positives phrases whenever you feel weak: I CAN DO IT ! YES I CAN! THIS IS FOR MY FUTURE! So and so . whatever it’s just make sure it is something that is positive.

You must keep yourself motivated and never think of giving up.

IMAGINATION is the best thing to motivate us, to me.

Imagine that you are looking at your slip with many As.
Imagine that your photos are everywhere on the newspapers.
Imagine how proud your parents will be when they see your great result.
Imagine you are celebrating with your friends.
Imagine you are packing your stuff preparing to go to your dream school.
Imagine you are working as the person that you want to be.

Feeling great? Move on and make them REAL !

Know more about MUET

For bananas and those who have a solid foundation in English would probably think Malaysian University English Test ( MUET) is easy as pie. But for us who don’t have enough exposure (or I shall say those who didn’t put enough effort in learning English) and adequate knowledge in English would be in deep shit. But then how would we judge on the knowledge level?  As at the end, there’s no international standard unit to evaluate or gauge it right? That’s why we need to take exam. Examinations will tell you what your level is. In MUET, the higher band you get, the better you are and eventually you’ll have better chance in entering university. That’s the reason why everyone of us ( STPM candidates) strives so hard and takes it  seriously. The minimum band in entering local university is Band 1 as stated in their requirements .However, based on my school record, there is no one that has successfully entered local university with that band- the lowest band. As a matter of fact, if you get 0 out of 300, you’re a band 1 scorer. haha.

It’s a must?

It is undeniably extremely important if you intend to settle down in Malaysia. To be exact, it’s a requirement of entering and graduating from local university. So if you want to get a certificate from any local university, it’s a compulsory test.

Is MUET result really important?

It depends on the course that you want to enroll in. Some courses like law requires the applicant to achieve a high band but courses like BM and others are not. You just need to achieve at least a band 2 and of course band 3 will place you at a secured position.

Is it possible for me to achieve a good band if I didn’t do well in SPM?

Forget about your result in SPM ( English ) . Some candidates got good grades in SPM but screwed up in MUET and some the opposite.

Uh-huh why ?

It’s merely because different things will be tested in MUET. In SPM, you just need to read, write and analyze. On the other hand , you’ll have to listen, speak, analyze deeply, write, synthesize and a lots more in MUET.
CASE A: My best friend got B/C in SPM but got a high band 4 in MUET.
CASE B: Another friend of mine got A in SPM but only achieved band 3 in MUET.

An advice from me to my juniors: P
I know you are very busy with other subjects but just bear in mind, every subject is equally important.

Why should I believe in you ?

You have to because I am a special scorer of MUET.(I improved a lot) Please refer to the photos below and I bet you will request for tips after this OR you may think I should be feeling shameful. I don’t really care because I did really strive to brush up my English by widening my vocabulary, reading tones of novels and English materials and speaking to my reflection in mirror.

I am proud of myself and my improvement.I am poor in English , even my English teacher thinks so(not good enough to achieve band 5).it was encouragement and self-believing that convinced me to re-sit. I am grateful and thankful for having great family, teachers and friends. After grueling hours of studying, I did it :) YOU CAN DO IT TOO !!

Please be noted that the main purpose and the only purpose of showing these photos is to boost up your confidence and it served as an encouragement as well. I have faith in you and of course you should believe in yourself too. Every dream starts with believing.

If you noted my statuses and posts on my facebook, most probably you will notice that I was not happy.
Well,as most of my friends will guess it right, what else if it was not due to exams.
My mock exam's result is really bad, hmmp bad but acceptable.
My classmates and schoolmates would probably  kill me if they read this post or think I am annoying or whatsoever because they might think I am ungrateful.
But for the sake of improvement,I shall not compare my results with others, but myself.Isn't?
Compared to others, perhaps I am a lot more better, but if compared to my previous results, this is the worst ever.
Erm Or i shall say same with my very first exam that was being taken during lower six.
I aim to improve in every exam,I made it until this time round. Disappointed of myself.
 I'm not a perfectionist,just a goal chaser.Haha LOL.
What's the point of setting a goal and when you fail to realize it ,you feel nothing?

It's ok to fall, isn't? Most importantly we know how to get up and start everything all over again :)

The disappointment I felt has compelled me to try harder.Motivated me and now I feel much better :')
But at least,I hit 3.5.(Try so hard to comfort myself you know :') )
I really crave for 4.00! major badly!
My biggest obstacles are BM & PA papers!
I only manage to get an A-.Really sad and I have decided to do something about it.
In a fortnight-exactly before second mock-I'll try different ways and oout more efforts in these two subs.

Hopefully,if the God wills it,I'll get it !:))

Counting down for Pra STPM

第一次考到straight As(Mid-year Exam-2As & 2A-),觉得很安慰很感动,

OMIGAWD.

I have received my MUET result.I would say it was acceptable but aroused a bit disappointment.I got fairly good marks in Listening,Speaking but not in writing.
Amazingly,my sadness was treated and faded by the good results of my mid-year exam :D
I aimed to break my teacher's record by getting more than 40 correct out of 60 questions in BM Paper 1 and I finally did it-I hit 50/60 during the mid-year exam.
And now I am aiming to get an A instead of an A- in BM :)
I cant stop looking at the marks and smirking gleefully :)
